Last week, our landlord helped us to change the air conditioner in our bedroom, which had been broken for a long time.We had to turn on the air conditioner in the living room and then open the door of the bedroom. Our landlord was very nice and didn’t need our help. As Caya and I sat on the wooden sofa, our landlord took the workers to finish the work. After the workers left, he went to buy plastic water pipes and pvc pipes, squatted outside the window on the railing with zip ties to fix the water pipes. He said that otherwise the stores downstairs will complain about the dripping water.
After the old air conditioner was removed, a hole appeared in the wall where the water pipe once was. On the inside of the hole, there was a section of two layers of red bricks, and the hole was an irregular round shape. It was raining a few days ago, and the sound of rain came in through the hole at night. I realized that this hole was the only unobstructed passage between the interior and exterior of the house.
